Big Thanks from BPFD

 March 26, 2020

BPFD would like to thank a very generous resident that donated 50 N95 masks this week! With an overall shortage on medical supplies that help protect first responders, hospital workers, and other front line workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot express how grateful we are. Acts of kindness like this, truly goes a long way! Stay safe, and stay healthy everyone!

BPFD & COVID-19

 March 17, 2020

With the recent COVID-19 outbreak, we would like to inform you that our department will not be accepting any outside food donations. Instead, we encourage those in the community to check on family, neighbors, and elderly folks around you. Taking care of one another by ensuring others are receiving any help or food they need, is extremely important. Let’s all make light of this situation by spreading acts of kindness, coming together as a community!

We would also like to inform you that we will be closing our front doors to the public, but remain in service to respond to calls. If you arrive at one of our stations and are having an emergency, please pick up the red phone to connect with our dispatchers.

As always, call 911 if you are having an emergency.

February 16, 2021, Governor Pritzker issued a disaster proclamation following the significant winter storms seen across 102 Illinois counties. With large snow accumulations, low temperatures, and severe windchill temperatures affecting more than ten states, it is creating a negative impact on utility companies. The severe cold temperature are creating power outages to approximately 7,000 households, and these numbers will continue to fluctuate with the continued weather. The Governor is encouraging to take appropriate measures to safely conserve energy, and winterizing your homes to extend fuel supplies.

Stay safe, stay warm, and check on your neighbors around you to make sure everyone is remaining safe in the time of severe cold weather!
