February 16, 2021, Governor Pritzker issued a disaster proclamation following the significant winter storms seen across 102 Illinois counties. With large snow accumulations, low temperatures, and severe windchill temperatures affecting more than ten states, it is creating a negative impact on utility companies. The severe cold temperature are creating power outages to approximately 7,000 households, and these numbers will continue to fluctuate with the continued weather. The Governor is encouraging to take appropriate measures to safely conserve energy, and winterizing your homes to extend fuel supplies.

Stay safe, stay warm, and check on your neighbors around you to make sure everyone is remaining safe in the time of severe cold weather!
